I am a dedicated, empathetic, and client-centred Career Development Professional with a strong foundation in community-based employment services, workforce development, and resource coordination.

With an academic background in Social & Applied Human Science and advanced training in Career Development, I am passionate about empowering individuals to pursue meaningful, sustainable careers through informed decision-making and practical employment strategies.

I currently work as a 1:1 Employment Counsellor with 2nd Chance Employment Counselling Guelph-Wellington, where I provide individualized career coaching and employment support to clients navigating diverse personal, social, and systemic barriers to employment. In this role, I conduct comprehensive needs assessments, support clients in identifying transferable skills, develop targeted job search strategies, and assist with résumé and cover letter development tailored to local labour market demands.

Previously, I worked as a Resource & Information Employment Counsellor within 2nd Chance’s Downtown Guelph office, where I supported a high volume of client visits annually, designed practical employment resources grounded in labour market research, and connected individuals with wraparound supports throughout the community to address employment-related challenges.

My practice is rooted in a strengths-based approach, supporting individuals in identifying their capabilities, strengthening their personal brand, navigating employment barriers, and building pathways toward sustainable work. I integrate career development theory with real-world application to ensure that each client leaves with clarity, confidence, and a practical action plan.

I specialize in:

  • Employment counselling and career coaching

  • Program development and workforce readiness initiatives

  • Community resource coordination and resource development

  • Client-centred case management

  • Labour market research and strategic job search support

  • Professional résumé development and personal branding

As an aspiring Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP), I am deeply committed to continuous learning and reflective practice. My approach combines empathy, structure, and strategic thinking to support individuals in moving forward with intention in their career journeys.

MY ELEVATOR PITCH

Having grown up navigating the impacts of poverty and mental health challenges directly, I understand firsthand how systemic and personal barriers can negatively impact an individual’s confidence, career direction, and sense of possibility. That lived experience has shaped my commitment to supporting others facing similar challenges as they work to identify their strengths, build confidence, and move toward meaningful employment and careers.

In my role as an Employment Counsellor with 2nd Chance Employment Counselling, I’ve supported more than 5,000 clients with career exploration, personal branding, résumé development, and job-search strategies to help them take practical steps toward sustainable employment. I’m particularly passionate about creating accessible, client-centered resources that improve engagement with employment services and empower individuals to confidently present their skills and experiences.

I am currently pursuing The Canadian Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP®) designation to continue strengthening my practice and supporting individuals in achieving long-term career success.
